Kill La Kill is a bit of a mess. The sheer amount of nudity and fanservice can definitely be too much, and the plot is a bit convoluted. But despite all that, I really like it! The animation is amazing, the action is stylish and cool, the comedy usually lands, the soundtrack is my second favorite anime score next to Madoka, and Ryuko is one of my favorite protagonists in all of fiction. It's a mess, but it's my mess. Here's my ranking of its episodes:
- Tell Me How You Feel (S1.22) - While most of this show has fanservice of the sexual type, this whole episode is fanservice of the crowd-pleasing type.
- Into The Night (S1.18)
- Past The Infinite Darkness (S1.24) - Still surprised Ryuko and Mako actually went on a date.
- Spit Your Sadness Away (S1.12)
- Incomplete (S1.21)
- I'm Not Your Cute Woman (S1.11) - The Nui twist is the best twist in the show, and the series gets so much better once she shows up
- Tell Me Why (S1.17)
- Imitation Gold (S1.23) - This episode is basically Sonic Adventure 2. Actually, the whole show kind of is.
- Far From The Madding Crowd (S1.20)
- Crazy For You (S1.13)
- Junketsu (S1.03) - Still the best fight of the series
- Don't Stop Me Now (S1.15)
- A Loser I Can't Hate (S1.07)
- Dawn Of A Miserable Morning (S1.04)
- Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (S1.19)
- I Will Wipe My Own Tears (S1.08)
- If Only I Had Thorns Like A Thistle (S1.01)
- I Want To Know More About You (S1.10)
- Trigger (S1.05)
- So Sexy She Might Pass Out (S1.02)
- The Girl Can't Help It (S1.16)
- A Once In A Lifetime Chance (S1.09)
- Don't Toy With Me On A Whim (S1.06)
- Ride Like The Wind (S1.14)
