FLCL is kind of indescribable. It's simultaneously a love letter to the crew's childhoods, a coming of age story, a The Pillows album, and a random clusterfuck of references and gags. It's one of my favorite anime but it's also very weird and I highly recommend seeing it yourself to get what makes it so special. Here's my ranking of its very short amount of episodes:
- Brittle Bullet (S1.05) - Full of fantastic and bizarre action scenes that make for the most energetic episode of the series.
- FLCLimax (S1.06) - A satisfying finale that actually manages to be the least confusing part of the anime, a bit odd considering Gainax's track record with endings.
- Fooly Cooly (S1.01)
- Marquis De Carabas (S1.03) - That fight scene in the school is so well-animated and exciting!
- Firestarter (S1.02)
- Full Swing (S1.04)
