Babylon 5 is a true sci-fi epic in the purest sense of the word. Its first and last seasons have flaws and the visuals may not have aged the best, but the sheer level of ambition makes it all worth it. The intricate sets and costumes, the phenomenal world-building and politics, the lovable characters, the top-notch acting, the planned-out-from-the-beginning story that remains impressively tight despite the show's infamous production issues, it all adds up to probably my favorite sci-fi series ever made, quite possibly one of my favorite pieces of sci-fi period.
