About Me

Hello, there!

I'm CelStudios, and I absolutely love movies, TV, and video games. I've programmed my own games and write screenplays in my free time, but I wanted to start this blog so I can write reviews some of the (many) TV shows that I've seen and am planning on seeing. I watch all kinds of shows from dramas to comedies to anime, so expect a diverse lineup of series on here. I'll probably also squeeze in some movie and video game reviews for good measure.

My favorite TV Shows that I've seen so far are:

  1. Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Angel too!)
  2. Community
  3. Avatar: The Last Airbender
  4. Person Of Interest
  5. Puella Magi Madoka Magica
  6. Breaking Bad
  7. K-On
  8. 30 Rock
  9. Nichijou
  10. Babylon 5
As for movies and video games, my favorite movies include Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Wall-E, The Dark Knight, Lord Of The Rings, Die Hard, and The Matrix. My favorite video game series include Kirby, Touhou, Sonic, Klonoa, the majority of Nintendo series, recently Mega Man and Ape Escape, and too many indie games to count. In general, I'm a fan of Star Wars, the Buffyverse, and the Puella Magi series. I was also an ex-MCU fan, but let's just say we had a bit of a falling out recently.

If I make any mistakes, be sure to let me know, and I hope you'll enjoy my reviews!

My Review Criteria:
Since review scores are technically arbitrary and the meaning of each depends on the person, I do at least want to clarify what each of my review scores mean. My scores tend to be more generous than most, I think, but that's also because I'm played and watched some truly heinous stuff. I find a lot of pieces of media people tend to despise (Rise Of Skywalker, Sticker Star being good examples) tend to only rank as 5-6/10s for me because I've experienced so much worse. So here's my personal grading system:
  • 5 Stars: Nothing's perfect, but these are the closest thing. A piece of media where the strengths are so strong that I can't help but downright adore it.
  • 4 Stars: Very good, thoroughly enjoyable, with one or two glaring flaws preventing me from downright loving it.
  • 3 Stars: Ehhhhhhh, pretty mixed. I can respect what the creators did, appreciate what it does right, and acknowledge that it might work for others, but it just doesn't fully land for me.
  • 2 Stars: This is not very good, but it's not irredeemable and has a few genuinely good or even great elements. There's still a level of competence to these works that the 1 Star works don't have.
  • 1 Stars: Completely and utterly disastrous. Horrible concept, horrible execution, or both at the same time. The kinds of media that leave me baffled as to how they even got made to begin with.
